An absolute classic.
Booby traps, bad guys, and a small child living every introvert’s dream—having the whole house to themselves. Home Alone is pure Christmas chaos, packed with heart, laughter, and unrealistic levels of home security creativity.
Best enjoyed with: Hot chocolate, snacks that make a crunch, and a blanket big enough to hide under when the Wet Bandits appear.
2. Elf (2003)
Will Ferrell in yellow tights shouting “SANTA! I KNOW HIM!” — need we say more?
Elf is the perfect mix of silly, sweet, and sugar-fuelled joy. It’s impossible to watch without smiling (or craving maple syrup on spaghetti).
Best enjoyed with: Family, laughter, and a candy cane in your coffee. ☕
3. Love Actually (2003)
The film that gave us heartbreak, hope, Hugh Grant’s dance moves, and the most chaotic airport finale ever.
It’s not perfect—but neither is Christmas, and that’s kind of the point.
Best enjoyed with: A glass of wine, a box of tissues, and someone who won’t judge your emotional rollercoaster.
4. The Holiday (2006)
Two women swap homes (and lives) for Christmas and accidentally find love. It’s cosy, romantic, and full of those “why doesn’t my life look like a Nancy Meyers movie?” moments.
Best enjoyed with: Fairy lights, a fluffy blanket, and a mug of something warm (bonus points if it’s from We Are Brag 😉).
5. It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)
The original Christmas tearjerker.
Old-school, heartwarming, and full of that timeless message: you matter more than you realise. No film captures the spirit of giving and gratitude quite like this one.
Best enjoyed with: Family, comfort food, and absolutely no distractions.
